Planning SharePoint 2016 Large Intranet
Below is a Visio poster diagram I created outlining how I might propose a large scale collaboration Intranet running SharePoint 2016. MinRole will give more granular control to “unit scale” servers out as individual roles show high utilization. Monitor, scale, repeat? Can’t wait to try the beta later this year.

Should I use SharePoint or a File Share?
I needed a quick reference for users on when it is best to use SharePoint Document Libraries or a File Share. There are many scenarios for each. I don’t believe the “file share is dead” theory, but rather see both continuing side by side.

Visio 2013 – new shapes and color scheme
Today I opened Visio to draw a simple network topology. The default shapes are different from Office 2010 and have taken more of a Windows 8 (“Modern UI”) look. Below are some an examples and stencil downloads for drawing the newer style of Microsoft diagrams.
