BUG – InfoPath 2013 People Picker browse button doesn’t work on InfoPath form

Today I noticed an issue with InfoPath browser forms on SharePoint 2013 the People Picker “browse” icon not launch the find people dialog.  Below are more details.   This was tested on both version 4551 (October 2013 CU) and 4569 (Service Pack1) where both failed to launch the people dialog in a full screen form with the toolbar hidden.   This does not appear to be fixed in any CU or patch that I’m aware of.    Below are the test cases and results that I performed.

Hopefully Microsoft can include a fix in a future release.

Toolbar Hidden in full screen mode (FAILS)

When clicking the “browse/book” icon nothing happens.  No dialog appears.  No JavaScript error is visible.

WAC KB2878219 – Installation of this package failed – Error 1646

Tonight I came across the below error message.  Honestly I have no idea how to fix, but I wanted to post because I found zero search results and figured somebody else might stumble across the same and could leave a comment with their findings.   Overall, the issue seems to be this new patch (KB2878219) will not install because a previous patch (KB2850032) won’t uninstall.

This might require a full uninstall and reinstall to fix.   http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_web_apps_server_2013_support_blog/archive/2014/04/08/how-to-remove-office-web-apps-2013-with-service-pack-1-and-apply-security-update-2878219.aspx

VIDEO – Tour of SSRS, PowerPivot, and PowerView

I wanted to record an introduction to the new reporting and Business Intelligence capability within SharePoint 2013.   After loading SP2013, there are a few steps to activate the backend Service Applications for BI.   The SQL 2012 install media is needed for this to install SSRS Integrated Mode and PowerPivot.

However, once those are online you can load great samples like “PowerView – Hello World Picnic” to browse real data and confirm it all works correctly.   Very cool stuff, enjoy!

Smile
